WHO ARE WE?

The Academy of Removable Prosthetic and Implant Dentistry International (ARPID) is an Academy of General Dentistry Program Approval for Continuing Education Council (PACE) continuing education provider which has been in existence since 2009. It received its accreditation by the Academy of General Dentistry in 2011. ARPID International’s mission is to provide high quality educational experiences to dental professionals in an effort to expand and support their knowledge base and help them to translate what they learn to the practice of restorative and implant dentistry.

ARPID International’s founder, Dr. Lloyd Patterson, is an esteemed scientist, researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, mediator, intermediary and prosthetic dentist. This native of Kalamazoo, MI received his undergraduate degree from Kalamazoo College with a pre-medicine major. Dr. Patterson subsequently went on to distinguish himself in the field of abnormal psychology obtaining a BS and MS degree from Western Michigan University. He received his DMD degree from Temple University and later pursued post-doctoral studies in prosthetic dentistry at McCarrie School of Health Sciences and Technology. Dr. Patterson is a pioneer in the field of artificial bone and implant technology. He has over 40 years of knowledge first having completed advanced studies at Brooks Medical and the University of North Carolina and later forming the internationally renowned research company, LPI, for which he is owner and founder. Dr. Patterson’s distinguished career has also included a private dental practice in Kalamazoo, MI. Lastly, Dr. Patterson played professional football as a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles.
